Meet Katie Snowberger

Katie is a junior at Washington State University where she is double majoring in advertising and communications technologies. She grew up in Bellevue, WA but recently moved to Scottsdale, AZ. Her interests include health and wellness, fashion, and traveling.

Professionally, Katie hopes to work in marketing or social media for a large corporation once she graduates. Though open to many industries, ideally she would like to work in either the beauty, fashion, or hospitality industries. She hopes to genuinely enjoy her job which is why she would love to work in one of her preferred industries.

Katie currently has two marketing internships. The first is for the Innovation and Research Engagement Office at Washington State University. For this internship, she develops materials suitable for distribution on professional media platforms that promote WSU technologies and solicit engagement, creates digital assets for circulation in association with IREO, and promotes connections with industry partners through marketing on LinkedIn. Her other internship is for a merchandise company called Campus Tees. This internship entails networking among a community of 14 sororities and over 30 fraternities to promote sales for merchandise.

Additionally, Katie was the Director of Fundraising at the Delta Gamma Beta Omega Chapter for the year of 2021. During this position, she engaged a chapter of 200 women in fundraising for the Service for Sight foundation and raised almost $3,000 in one semester. After her term finished, Katie was elected to President of her chapter where she oversees and facilitates all operations in a self-governing chapter of 200 women and governs and executive council of 9 women and junior executive council of 28 women.

This summer, Katie will be a marketing and communications intern for Pacific Science Energetic Materials Company in Glendale, AZ. She is excited to spend her summer exploring Arizona and learning new skills at her internship.

Katie took COM 481 because it is a requirement for her communications technologies degree. She hopes to learn how to navigate many types of media channels and mobile media devices since this is very much so a digital world. She also would like to potentially work with social media one day so she hopes to learn more about using social media in a career during COM 481.
